STRENGHTS
- My knowledge and understanding of the scene and context is good
- can clearly establish what is going on in the scene
- can show a lot of contextual examples to further emphasis the points i am making

WEAKNESSES
- needs to be more about the audiences reaction/interpretation on whats going on in the scene
- can use better terminology when referring to key film elements and being confident with all of them such as high key and low key.
- could have added another paragraph into the essay.

improving a paragraph

Furthermore, sound is used to represent gender in this scene for example, Quiet non-diegetic sound is played when Mercedes is stabbing Vidal to portray retaliation and the audience is inevitably taken aback by her unforeseen power, Guillermo Del Toro does this to show the audience that women have a lot of subtle power which they rarely get to use.

Furthermore, different key language terms like foley, diegetic/non-diegetic sound is used to represent gender in this scene an example of this is when, quiet non-diegetic sound is played when Mercedes is overpowering Vidal through stabbing him and breaking free of her chains, symbolising her as a women escaping the imprisonment of men. The audience reacts to this by supporting Mercedes as they can understand her position due to the context of that era that we are already aware of. The director does this to represent the light at the end of the tunnel for Mercedes's restraints. The sound is important in this because the quietness of the music could show the quite life Mercedes has shown and how she is mostly ignored until a situation like this occurs.
