- after the war people wanted to see more authentic films and not the normal Hollywood structure.
-  started to allow more new directors to try their own style on films these people include Steven Spielberg and other similar directors.
- Independent Films started in Italy (Italian neo-realism films)-post war.
- suffered the greatest during the war but was ready to change.
- French new wave started coming around.
